Beginner's Florentine Women's Wardrobe 1540-1580

to Beginner's Florentine Class

This class is intended to be a brief overview of the pieces of a women's wardrobe in what I consider to be one of the least scary from a 16th century standpoint...I have always loved the 16th Century clothing but not what appeared to be all the fussy accessories, that is what makes Florentine perfect for me, and I hope that this class dispels some fears about 16th century Florentine costuming, and/or will prove informative.

Clothing in a 16th Century (1510-1540's) German Women's Wardrobe

to German Women's Class

This class is intended to be a brief overview of the various items of clothing that comprise a 16th century German women's wardrobe. This class highlights the differences between Saxon dress, Hausfrau, and Kampfrau, and also delves into the pieces of the wardrobe that are essential to the German look, and the pieces of the wardrobe that are optional. I hope this class dispels some misunderstandings about 16th century German costuming, and/or will prove informative.

16th Century German Women's Hats

to German Hats Class

In modern costuming it is quite frequent that one agonizes over fabric choices, the cut and construction of one's clothing, and the accuracy of one's depiction. It is unfortunately all to frequent that hats and headwear are not only an afterthought, but often not a thought at all. In the context of 16th century costuming--if clothes make the man, it is the hats that make the German. This class explores the various types of womens' hats seen in 16th century Germany.
