Emma's 1540's Florentine Gown
By: Catherine Griffith (SCA: Baroness Catherine Grace Fitzlewis QC)

A good friend of mine gave me 4 yards of navy blue cotton velvet, and it was just right for a princess dress for Em. I drafted the pattern with side-back seams, and attached sleeves. I lined the whole dress in some medium blue cotton linen blend, and I used some $0.13 a yard silver trim for the guarding. This dress has hook and eye tape down the front to close. I used a bit of trim I've had in a drawer for 6 years for her belt.
The hairnet is one that I made years ago, and only wore once, so it has been passed on to Miss Em.
